Local Breweries Where You Have To Try A Flight

Sometimes the toughest choice when you're at a great brewery is what beer to pick, which is why whoever invented the beer flight needs an award!

Check out these Philly breweries where you have to sample a flight.

Roy Pitz

Address: 990 Spring Garden St, Philadelphia, PA 19123

Cam: "Roy Pitz converted a warehouse on Spring Garden into their barrel house. Inside features art from different local artist on the walls and barrels. They have elevated bar food that goes great with a $3 happy hour pint!"

Evil Genius Brewery

Address: 1727 N Front St, Philadelphia, PA 19122

Lauren: "They have a welcoming staff who is more than willing to explain their beers. The names of their beers are creative and witty like "New Phone Who Dis?" or "#Adulting." It is hands down one of my favorite breweries in Philly."

Brewery ARS

Address: 1927-29 W Passyunk Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19145

Brenden: "When you search the definition of “neighborhood bar”, it should just say Brewery ARS. They keep it simple with a quality beer selection that’s big enough to find what you like, but won’t overwhelm you. They’re constantly bringing in local food like pizza or oysters to set up food trucks right outside. The owners hand draw all the artwork on the cans - which is badass!

Oh, and they have a ”Gritty” beer they made with Federal Donuts. Only open Wednesday - Sunday."

Kurant Cider

Address: 436 E Girard Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19125

Brenden: "This is a new brewery that specializes in ciders. Located Fishtown, it’s a great change of pace for brewery fans - and also a great compromise for those that don’t like beer. They serve quality craft ciders that aren’t like the sugary mainstream ciders. Hang at the bar or sit down on at the tables upstairs. Open Wednesday to Sunday."

Love City Brewing

Address: 1023 Hamilton St, Philadelphia, PA 19123

Cam: "Love City Brewing is a black facede warehouse on a tiny street a couple blocks off of Spring Garden. It is beautiful on the inside with exposed brick and lots of decorative houseplants. They have the whole beer drinking crowd covered from classic Pilsners to the trendy New England IPAs and even have beer cocktails such as their Lageritas! Cheers!"

Urban Village Brewing Company

Address: 1001 N 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19123

Cam: "Urban Village is an awesome neighborhood brewpub at the Piazza in Northern Liberties with brick oven pizzas and about a dozen drafts. They have a great happy hour at 5-7 that includes $3 for all draft beer and 1/2 off pizza! They nail every style of beer! Personally my favorite is A.C.E.S. a NE IPA brewed with wheat, oats, and flaked rice and a lot of late addition hops! Has a lot of flavor and goes down easily! They always have crowlers and a limited amount of 4-packs available to-go!"
