Atmosphere with unique seating
Amazing tacos priced reasonably

Casta Diva

Address: 227 S 20th St, Philadelphia, PA 19103

Austin | Philly BYOB Native:
"A great Italian BYOB not too far from Rittenhouse Square. Everything here is homemade and delicious! They consistently churn out homemade bread (waiter told us they bake a fresh batch every 20 minutes). It was warm and delicious when they brought it out so I believe it! I loved everything about this place!! Made for a great date night. \n\n Just a heads up it's a pretty small restaurant so naturally tables are close, if they're full and you don't like that type of atmosphere it might not be for you (it didn't bother me at all and this is pretty common for city restuarants just giving you the fair warning). CASH ONLY!"

"The BEST grilled cheese in the city, and honestly some of the best ice cream I've ever had too. Get their Grilled Cheeseburger, their take on a cheeseburger grilled cheese. It's a special, off-the-menu item and was only promoted on Instagram."

"It may seem cliche to mention Parc, but it has always been good to me! There's something special sitting on Rittenhouse square drinking a glass of Rose, people watching while eating oysters. As I'd say, 'it's so Philly'."

Bar Bombon

Address: 133 S 18th St, Philadelphia, PA 19103

Emily - @phillysplantplate | Philly Vegan Native:
"This is my top recommendation for many reasons. I've taken many of my non-vegan friends here, and they love the food as well. Bar Bombon is an entirely vegan restaurant that serves Latin-inspired food and also accommodates gluten-free preferences. My favorites on the menu are the brussel sprouts, cauliflower tacos, and the Spanish meatballs. They also serve brunch on the weekends! Even though the food is phenomenal, Bar Bombon is still under the radar. To my surprise, I don't hear many people talk about it.

Making reservations is always a good idea, but you can get away with walking in on a week night or you can sit at the bar. Besides the food, the location is so convenient. It's right across from the Anthropologie store in Rittenhouse Square."

Susannah - @sparkling_Sus_ | Philly Fine Dining Native:
"Chef Sichel intertwines the long, global history of the Jewish food culture in a creative and refined way. The Montreal Short Ribs are truly a culinary adventure. The ambiance is casually sophisticated; a place where one can relax with a cocktail and easily loose track of time. Come here with three good friends and indulge in the chef’s tasting."

Giuseppe & Sons

Address: 1523 Sansom St, Philadelphia, PA 19102

Jill | Philly Dates Native:
"If you come for dinner you’ll be ushered through what feels like a diner-esq restaurant (that’s open for lunch) down the stairs and you’ll walk into a massive underground dimly lit restaurant. Despite it’s size it has a very intimate/classy vibe. The whole experience makes you feel as though you stepped into a different era. The dishes are built for sharing but you can easily order one for yourself if you’d rather. The food is great!"
