Foodie, Sammies 🍞🧀
Lover of All Things Cheese

I grew up right outside of Philly, but moved to the city for college, and here I have stayed for 8 years. I live in south Philly (aka best neighborhood) with my very crazy but very cute black lab and boyfriend.
Living in this neighborhood has introduced me to some of the best food I've ever had, some of the best bars I've ever been to, and the opportunity to be a part of an awesome community.
The best part about living here, South Philly Italians love their cheese. And. So. Do. I.
The only thing I like more than cheese (okay, I lied, these two are tied) is a quality sandwich (...and I guess my dog and boyfriend are a close second).

What you need to know:

My boyfriend introduced me to Cosmi's a few year back and it may have made me fall in love with him all over again. Cosmi's is a classic. It's AMAZING. And if you find yourself in South Philly, you have to go.
They have a ton of sandwiches to choose from, but my fave is the eggplant parm. It's just perfect. Perfectly fried, perfectly cheesy, and perfectly covered in red sauce. And they give you the option of having it on a seeded roll or not (I always pick seeded). I encourage you to go in, peruse the large menu, and chow down.

What you need to know:

Okay, Kung Fu Hoagies is a little food cart gem. You have to check out their website to see where they will be each day, but I CAN tell you that every Sunday they are right on the corner of Dickinson and Passyunk in South Philly.
Full disclosure, this place is all vegan, but whether you're vegan or not, these hoagies are delicious and a guaranteed crowd pleaser. I'm not vegan, but if I had to live off of just these hoagies for the rest of my life, I would be totally fine with it.
I have tried all of the hoagies on the menu and I can't pick a favorite because I love them all equally. I guess if I HAD to choose, it would be the tofu meatball hoagie, but really, any decision you make, won't be disappointing.

What you need to know:

If you find yourself over in beautiful West Philly, you have to stop by Fu-Wah and get one of their Vietnamese hoagies. They. Are. So. Good. And the best part, you get a lot of delicious bang for your buck.
My favorite is the Tofu hoagie, but if you aren't into tofu, the Chicken hoagie is just as good. I recommend going on a nice day, getting a hoagie to-go, and sitting in (near by) Clark Park...doesn't that sound like the best?!
